About Six Steps
What is Six Steps?
Six Steps offers quiet spaces to step into for self-reflection, designed to help people come to terms with long-term health changes. It provides a structured, safe environment to explore your experience through gentle questions that honour your own words and perspectives.
The approach uses Six Spaces, inspired by Emergent Knowledge techniques developed by David Grove. By stepping into one quiet space per session with a 30-minute limit, the process remains manageable and contained.
The Six Spaces
Each session begins by choosing a quiet space to step into - a perspective from which to explore your experience:
Here
The present moment.
There
Where you'd like to be.
Before
Life before the change.
After
What has happened since.
Inside
Your internal world.
Outside
The world around you.
How Sessions Work
- You choose a quiet space to step into
- You receive a gentle question related to that space
- You respond in your own words
- The next question reflects your words back to you
- This continues through a series of deepening questions
- The session ends with "And what do you know now that you didn't know before?"
Sessions are limited to 30 minutes. You can pause at any time and return later.
Important: This is Not Therapy
